My time in the R/C hobby started recently back in 2015 but it has become my #1 passion. My first hobby grade R/C was a Traxxas Summit which I ran on trails and competed in a local Monster Truck series with it after going to brushless with the Castle 1515 motor paired with the Mamba Monster X ESC. I was hooked on Castle not only by this upgrade but the customer service I received then and in the years since.
Along the way, I met a lot of great people at the events I attended and decided to get into the scale crawler scene. My wife and I run two highly modified Vaterra Ascenders both running Castle "Slate" motors paired with the Mamba X ESC. We attend as many events as possible during the year around the country in the areas of G6 trail, Endurance trail, Scale and Monster Trucks. I enjoy getting out, meeting and chatting with people in the hobby that share the same passion as I and promoting the quality products from Castle Creations in the process.

Drag brake selection using the Aux wire. I use it all the time on the trails and being able to set the drag brake from the radio has made trailing so much more enjoyable.
Buy an RTR (Ready-to-Run) in the area of the hobby that interests you and get out there and run it. You'll learn from there what you'll need in the way of upgrades. Also, get involved with RC groups on Facebook, get out to some RC events near you and don't be afraid to ask questions. The people in this hobby are some of the best I have been around and are happy to help.
