Basic Instructions for calibrating endpoints on Castle air ESCs with BeastX enabled Spektrum receivers.
Works on Talon, Phoenix ICE and Phoenix Edge series ESCS.
**** Remove Blades From Model or disengage the pinion****
This process works for fixed endpoint and all governor modes.
1.) In the transmitter, set the throttle endpoints(travel) to 40 low and 40 high.
2.) Make sure your throttle curve is set linear (I.E. 0-50-100).
3.) Go to zero throttle on the transmitter, rebind the AR7200 ( or Receiver with SMART SAFE technology) at 0% throttle
4.) Remove the bind plug (if applicable), power down the receiver. Then power down the transmitter.
5.) Power up the transmitter with the throttle stick at zero. Plug in the power to the receiver.
6.) Push throttle stick to high. Increase the travel adjustment
for full throttle until you hear the beep for 100% throttle... ( Note:
on the EDGE and the ICE ESCs with logging if you stay at 100% throttle
for 6 seconds you will get a multi-tone and the data logger will be
cleared. )
7.) Pull the throttle stick to the bottom, you will get a single
beep as you go through the center of the range. Increase the
throttle endpoint for the low stick position ( -0- throttle ) until the
ESC arms... You can add an extra point or 2...
8.) The throttle should now activate the motor (MAKE SURE BLADES ARE REMOVED OR PINION IS DISENGAGED BEFORE TESTING).
8.) Rebind the transmitter and receiver with the throttle stick at the bottom (0%). You should be
calibrated and ready to go.
The video below uses an alternative method that has you rebind and start at 100% throttle instead of 0% throttle.
This method will not work on transmitters that initiate the bind process by having you hold a bind button while powering on the transmitter.
