I got into the sport by seeing a RCCA mag at the local grocery store. I read a couple years worth of mags before I ever got a car (because I was a poor high school student... LOL). I got into racing R/C cars because I'm a racer by nature. I'll race anything if the challenge is there. I raced motocross since an early age, and once I had enough money to get into R/C cars, I raced the R/Cs in the off season of motocross. Once I got an R/C car, I loaded it up and hit my nearest track. I didn't have any friends in the sport, I entered R/C racing purely on my own. The first race I ever hit didn't even have a novice class, just hard-core off roaders, and I TQ'ed and won my very first race. I have something that burns inside where I have to race. At the end of the day, even if I crush everyone, or if I get lapped 20 times, I don't know that I leave really "liking" it. I leave feeling fulfilled that I went for it and pushed myself to do whatever I could for the win. I'm into racing because it's who I am, a racer. I will admit that one time I was extremely happy to race R/Cs. The first class I won at the 18th nats I nearly cried. I definitely liked winning a race that was truly worth winning against some incredible competition.
