| All my life I've been an avid aviation enthusiast. However, I've been an R/C airplane addict coming up on 4 years now. It started with a special on Television about radio control jets, and a little brother who simply wouldn't be told "It's way too complicated for us". We picked up an all in one trainer airplane from the internet and proceeded to brutally, and systematically destroy it.
Not to be beaten, we tried again with a 'real' R/C airplane and were successful. It didn't take long for me to realize I loved aerobatics. Since then I've been flying everything I can get my hands on. Currently, I'm an English major at Arizona State University. As luck would have it; Arizona is the R/C flying capital of the world. If I'm not writing papers, I'm bending sticks.
What I like best about R/C is the people. It's a fantastic community of really intelligent people all throwing their pride, joy, and money into the air with no guarantee of return. You'll find a lot of people with a great sense of humor, and a genuine desire to help. It's the people that make the hobby particularly rewarding.
